I posted it because the site received email from a viewer who asked details about it and if it was now available for sale. They apparently saw it in our videos section and assumed we had an association the the person who created the video. I emailed back explaining the video was only embedded here, and then provided them with the creator's YouTube channel address to leave comments there or attempt to contact them. (I also modified the pages showing videos to indicate they are embedded videos where questions to the creator need to be made on their YouTube channel.)
Even though I know almost nothing about woodworking, I found it interesting and well done and thought others might, too. He's using his YouTube channel to sell things, but it's not a hard sell. He offers the complete thing already built in a box, or just the plans, or a set of all the hardware needed, etc. All reasonably priced, IMO.
I also recalled when I first started being involved here, I watched a lot of videos trying to learn more about woodworking, and there were many who said the FIRST THING you need to do upon getting a decent table saw is to MAKE A SLED. I didn't even know what that was, but after watching more videos, I noticed there were lots of people describing how to make the PERFECT one. All different.
I think I mentally clicked that if I WERE to get a table saw, that is probably the sled I would want. But then, what do I know other than this guy convinced me his was pretty darn nice.I also liked his explanation and videoing of the "Five Cut Method" which I've read about but could never wrap my head around. After seeing him do it and describe it, I could visualize it and even understand why it works.
For those of you who DO know about such things, is it a superior and unique design--with patents pending--as he claims?
