Getting myself a frame saw for resawing.

#1

Hello šŸ‘‹Ā

I am going to order a frame saw kit from blackburn tools. Now I heard there has been plenty of delivery issues, but the the seller I’m getting it from has it in stock.

Sadly the 3 inch saw was out of stock and I’m now leaning towards the 4. But I am afraid It is to big for smaller resawing. Would it be a misstake to get the 4 inch?

I have tried some of the Blackburn saws, and I have used this type of saw for over 40 years. I believe the 4ā€ blade goes with the 48ā€ saw and the 3ā€ blade goes with the 36ā€ blade. If you are doing the sawing by yourself, I would not recommend the 48ā€.

Thank you for your reply! This was what I feared.
This is correct regarding the lenght.
I am doing the sawing by myself. Then I will wait for the 36", If it does not restock I will have to look at other alternatives.

The 2" blade has a 32" inch body but also less thick blade, and I think not as agressive toothing. So It feels abit small and not as sturdy and heavy....

Thanks agian.
