I'm poor. And I need jaws for my Talon chuck. #2's and and spigot jaws, maybe step jaws. Marketplace (nee Classifieds) forum acts hinky for me, so I'm posting here.

1. "K", you may have noticed that most here on WC use their full names. Just a screen name (initials) and no email address makes you anonymous and less likely to get you much in the way responses.
2. As you're learning that the lathe may be the cheapest part of a turning tools rig, you may have more luck at estate sales. The Talon is a good and popular chuck for smaller lathes so estate and garage sales are most likely where you'll score what you seek.
3. Find a turning club in your area (find them on the AAW website) , join, and see if members may have unused stuff. I had a Talon and jaw sets for my first lathe. I sold them as a package when I upgraded.

They have programs to assist impoverished turners, so take a shot!
Duly noted. Changed some WC settings to uncloak myself a bit. I'm actually not a new member (been around since 2010 or so), just lost most of my WC credentials in the software update, but the old ID somehow followed me. Oddly, some of my uploaded pics are still here (thanks to the admin). As for the local AAW chapter, my membership lapsed.
Thanks,
Karl
@KTK, Yeah, it was a hot mess converting everything over. We got ALL the previously archived posts online (almost, some of the archives were missing/corrupted), but associating them with users proved far more difficult than anticipated.
To anyone reading this who is having issues associating their username on the old forums with an account here, I can only stress to simply not get frustrated but CONTACT ME using the Contact Us link at the bottom of any page. I just need two essential bits of information: 1) The username used on the old forums, and 2) your current email address. All our issues revolved around the old forums not storing the most recent email addresses, as many changed them over the years, and its software did not update that data.
OK.
Old username = KTK
I think the email address I used was [email protected]. Could have been [email protected], but that's long since abandoned.
Tryning to change my username from KTK to Karl Kulp.

I can only imagine how difficult it is (was) to dig out pertinent information from GB's (maybe TB's) worth of old forum posts. My hat is off to the unsung IT guy that accomplished it!
@karl jr, Yes, the old software reported your email was a yahoo address. I updated the karl jr account to the gmail address. You can now reset the password for karl jr by going to Login, selecting the Forgotten link, and entering the gmail address. You will receive an email to change the passphrase. It works pretty much like all other sites. The issue we had is the conversion was using old email addresses, and the system will not send out emails to change the passphrase to email addresses it does not recognize for obvious reasons.
Once you have reset the passphrase, you can login using either karl jr or the gmail address.
Your KTK account will be deleted once we ensure you are able to use the Karl Jr. account. Thanks.
And now I'm posting with the username "karl jr" alongside "Pinky" my doggo!
Yup! And if you click on your name, it will show account details, with all the topics and posts you have made over the years.
