I have a chance to get some local freshly sawed hard woods so I have built a 12 x 20 carport from a kit. Then at Lowes I spotted a pile of cull lumber and bought it for $5 with the intention of ripping it into stickers. As I was picking it up I realized it is sopping wet from sitting in a jumbled pile in the rain. And it has mold on it. I put it in my greenhouse to cook but I just don't know. Not worth using if I end up with sticker stain.
Any suggestions? I have Clorox and Boracare and could spray them down. Going to spray the lumber with Boracare anyway.

I would not take the chance of ruining good hard wood due to sticker stain from $5 wet wood. My 2 cents.

#4I would wipe down the stickers with bleach and then put them in a low humidity area. An air conditioned room or a small room with a dehumidifer.

#5Wet and moldy? Nah. I suppose you could treat them successfully, but then you'd still have the moldy tissue in contact with the wood. I'd find some dry scraps to saw up for stickers.
