DIY Indoor Hammock Stand x2 Project - All and any help would be greatly appreciated

Good time of day folks,

I found this forum from a post on /r/BeginnerWoodWorking and thought I'd give it a chance!

I am working on building two indoor hammock stands, however I'm new to woodworking and have limited tools/space to work with. This project is for my housemate and I to have hammock beds/stands for ourselves as our primary beds to sleep each night (several studies indicate multiple health benefits, including relief from ptsd symptoms).

This first video ->

inspired me to the idea that it is possible to DYI an indoor hammock stand.

This second video ->

is what I'm basing my two projects on, almost to a tee, just making it taller/longer to create space for a larger, long term use hammock. After the 9 minute mark you can see how the finished project looks.

The Problem:
This is how the hammock stand from second video has it's beam supports designed:

And this is where this beam support has to fit in my situation:

As you can see, I can't just attach the same straight bar at 90 degrees due to the corners limiting space. I tried using 3DS Max to model our two rooms and play around with possibilities. It was somewhat helpful, but without any hands on woodworking experience, I am pretttttty stumped on figuring out the needed modification.

My primary concern is stability, as I am a bit terrified of the stand collapsing during sleep. It seems like the supports would have to be attached at really strange angles? I don't care about aesthetics at this point (been breaking my head for a long time now), would a large bucket filled with cement work as a last resort desperate solution? (I feel blasphemous for even suggesting that)

Any tips, advice, recommendation, etc, on how to proceed would be significantly appreciated. Please let me know if I can provide any additional information that would be helpful.

My Tool list:
Bear in mind that I'm limited on funds, so am forced to work with the bare minimum but will purchase extras if absolutely necessary.
  1. HS7600 (7-¼”) Makita Circular Saw
  2. TD0100 Makita Impact Driver + ½” Drill Bit + A set of bits for screws
  3. Clamps
  4. A square/measuring tool/level
  5. PPE
  6. Small kitchen table used as a makeshift cutting table

I know TREEfool mentioned something about "damaging" his previous rented space by fastening to the walls/ceilings, but I don't see that as an issue. With sheet rock walls and ceilings, what damage is there that a little spackle and paint would not cure?

If you're going to put the stand in a corner, you need to mount the "legs" at 45° instead of 180°. They need to be longer to provide the same stability as the original design. You can use the Pythagorean Theorem to calculate that, or just make them about a third longer.

The easiest way to do this I can think of is to use 2 ea. 4x4 posts and 1 ea. sheet of 4x8 plywood.

Cut the plywood in half into 2 ea. 4x4 pieces, then again in half diagonally to make 2 ea. triangles. These are your "legs." Screw two of them to adjacent sides of the bottom of each post. Using plywood is an easy way to carry the compression w/o worrying about how to fasten them to the posts.

A 2x4 fastened across the top will keep the posts spaced apart.

You'll need to do some calculations to determine post height and spacing based on your hammock size and how much you want it to swag.

The solution to your problem is in how to  keep the top of that corner post from moving side to side. You don't need to worry so much about the bottom, because there is a top beam (double 2x4) that will keep the posts from leaning in toward each other or collapsing. You could probably get by with just a plywood foot, shaped like a home plate, under the corner post, screwed up into the bottom of the post. The top is where you need to get creative. If it were me, I'd make horizontal 2x3 or 1x4 cleats to screw to the wall on the two walls, then cut another piece of plywood to screw onto the top of the post. It's best if you can screw the cleats firmly to the wall studs. Your downside as far as damaging the apartment will be a few screw holes into the drywall where you attach the cleats.

Here's a down and dirty sketch for you. It's pretty rushed. Let me know if you need clarification.
