Just using up some leftover stock. Bad picture from a cheap cellphone.

Be very careful gluing up that common grade plywood!

It has very low glue sheer strength and tends to split when being turned, don't ask me how I know!

Re: wood movement?

I'm curious if you can feel the glue lines of where the plywood meets the solid wood. Way too many years making furniture and being concerned about seasonal wood movement makes me ask.

Jamie, I know Rude Osolnik turned some bowls from laminated plywood.  Were those bowls made from common plywood or Baltic birch or something else?

Rude always used Baltic Birch, and I also have used same for several pieces I glued up to turn over the years.

I have glued up several bowls using good full 3/4" plywood and also the stuff from big box stores. Never had any problems with either kind.

Then you've been lucky so far, always wear your protective equipment!
