A new vase made yesterday from spalter Red Maple ....

...that I squirreled away in the stash many years ago. Have sold several vase forms at shows recently, time to renew stock before a show next month. This blank has grain patterns of every type, fiddleback, burl, bark inclusion, all in the same blank, and lacquer finish to best display. 9 1/2"Hx4"W

It is really a shame that you had to work with such wrinkled and stained wood. It looks like you did what you could with it.
