Happy birthday to WoodCentral!

Today marks the 24th anniversary of this website. You can bet that when I uploaded page one in 1998, I sure never thought I would still be at it 24 years later, but I couldn't be happier that we're still shiny side up. This past year has been particularly thorny because of server issues and our recent throes of re-design, but we've come out of it in fine form, thanks in huge measure to our new web guru and all-around bon vivant, Peter Martin. (Let's have a round of snaps for Peter! Thanks partner.)

And, thank you all for bearing with our recent upheavals and travails. There will continue to be occasional hiccups as we consolidate our gains and move ahead into the 2020s and beyond. Times are changing, and we need to sync our woodworking discussions to the changing times, wherever that leads us. I hope you will continue to stick with us in coming days. This site will always be by and for you. Tell your friends. Let's move forward with strength and purpose and the abiding sense of civility and good cheer that always has been WoodCentral.

With gratitude and hope for the best,

Ellis Walentine, Host
