The tray is 13.5 in dia. I built the lathe about 20 years ago. I'll get a couple pictures later.

I turned the spindle with 1 1/2 inch  8 TPI. Bored it to fit a number 3 taper. It runs with a 220 volt DC vari. drive controller. The tailstock is from an old lathe I scrapped. It's about 5 feet between centers and swings 24 inches.
