I contacted Timberly woodturning NZ. inquire about the availability of a chuck key and this is the reply that I received and maybe someone else had the same reply.
Short story
I had a hundred made all sold
Went to have another hundred made but the costs to me of $89nz each plus our taxes meant they are exorbitant
The machining is very complicated
its best if you sell your chuck to another turner who has a chuck and key Buy another new Nova 1

Darn! I have the key for mine but was hoping to get one from Terry as I'd rather have a fixed vs the wobble key that came with the Supernova.

I've said it many times. Just buy a Vicmarc. It's a better chuck, will last a lifetime and it uses a standard 10mm hex wrench for the chuck key. I had Nova chucks originally but after getting the Vivmarc I never looked back. Dont buy one of the vicmarc copies, they dont hold up.

I have 3 "wabble-key" Novas and one key with handle so if you want to sell you handle/key, I am your buyer! P.

Just to point out John that Supernova chuck has not been in production or sold for about 15 or 16 years (or more). The Supernova II which took its place uses a key just like the Vicmarc. Don't forget that the Vicmarc originally was a copy of the nova chuck. The Vicmarc cost twice what the Nova costs and in my own opinion is no better than the Nova. I have Nova chucks, Vicmarc chucks, Oneway chucks, Axminster chucks and Bulldog chucks. Notice the s' multiples of each and I do not consider one better than the other I choose which to use by the jaws that are on it.
