I come to the turning forum and there is ONE post and that is only one Word. Thank you Jorge for keeping the place alive.
I am going to turn something. Just little covers for the bed bolts on my Son and DIL's bed. Maybe I should film it and post the effort on YouTube or here. It will involve an embedded magnet to hold it in place.
We just sold our house and bought another one in Coookeville, tn. I took about 3 weeks to pack up the old shop. I have all my wood, dust collector parts and other stuff stored in a 10x10 storage building. The rest of the shop is in our basement. And I mean packed in the basement. We have 2 small isles. We look like horders. After unpacking for 3 days we can now see concrete floor in a couple of areas. They started on the foundation for my shop today. It will be a steel building. I haven't worked with one of those before. It will go up fast but then will take longer to do the electrical and inside walls. Hope to have it all done by May 1st but that may be dreaming. I would have massive turning withdrawell if I didn't have so much to do around the house. Plus we have to get ready for a massive yard sale. We moved from a 3000 sq ft house to 1500. Needless to say we have some excess furniture, pictures, lamps and lots of other stuff.
Well it will be smaller and going to take some interesting space compression to get all the tools and wood in there. I'm hoping I can build some storage balcony's like I did in my shop before the last one. That got a lot of the larger wood off the floor. It will be interesting. Won't have much time for turning. Between building the shop interior and then working on putting rooms in our basement I will be a busy guy for the rest of the year.
We have been in this house for 30 years. If we ever to move I told my wife that we would just set it on fire and hope the insurance would cover our loss.
I've turned some recently, mostly to prepare for a demo. But I have many photos on my camera I intend to post when I get the time, the biggest problem. The older I gets, the busier I seems to be!
