40/40 grind using the Wolverine

I've been grinding the 40/40 grind by hand but someone asked it if could be done on the Wolverine jig so I went to the shop and played. It can, although my gouge is an old Henry Taylor and may not have the flute shape of Stewart Batty's so the grind may not be exact. Still it works for me.
I extend the gouge 1/3/4" out of the jig. I swing the arm all the way up to the top position. I had my V arm extended 6 3/8" which is what it takes in my setup to match the 40 degree nose. Yours may vary. This was also done in a mad rush because I'mpacking up my shop for the move to the new house so the grind may not be dead on.
