It's hard to remember what I may have already posted, and the search facility is DoA, so I'll go with some stuff I know I haven't.

I've gotten intrigued with a form I'll just call a "saddle" for simplicity, since it's really what I would call a double-bullseye propeller bowl. They can be done bark edge on, in one axis, or naked, wavy edge in two axes. There are a LOT of variations possible, and I plan to visit a number of them in my coming turning "season" (when it's warm enough to get outside).

I have begun with the simple ones. These are on the small side -- around 4" on the long side. I gave away both of the naked ones in our club "Bring-Back" challenges but kept the one with bark. A window-treatments guy was here recently putting up new blinds, and he tried hard to buy it, but I wouldn't sell it because right now it's the only one I have left, and I'm pretty much out of the red maple branches with nice heartwood/sapwood definition. The eggs in the second one are holly. The last is going to get a ladder, but that's a story for another time.
