More Christmas Items

Don Orr

These are the items I produced this year for Christmas.

The pens are for my coworkers. From left Zebrawood, Mystery burl x2, Rosewood of some sort. Finished with Bush Oil and WTF.

The ornaments are from and article @ AAW by John Lucas. Great work-thanks John! Bodies and icicles are maple and beech. From left the buttons are Cherry Burl, Canary Wood, Cocobolo x2, Spalted Maple x3 and Bocote. Finish is Krylon Workable Fixatif.

You only do nice work. Wish we lived closer so I might bet a chance to hold your turnings at a meeting or something.

Thanks George-the ornaments are far from perfect but acceptable. Wish you were closer too so I could see your work in person as well. All the best to you and yours!

Thanks John, means a lot coming from you. Not as nice as yours and never will be, but I try. Thanks again for the great article with the excellent instructions.

Merry Christmas!

Those are nice, Don!

I remember watching Sir Lucas make these once. Do you remember which issue of the AAW Journal taught these?

It was not in the journal as I recall but in one of the Turning FUNdamantal issues. Possibly Fall of 2016 or 2017.

Thanks. I have notes on these but never saw an article. If I can't find it maybe I could try to bribe JohnL for a copy!

It is in Woodturning Fundamentals November 2017 Vol 6 Issue 5 page 2. If your a member of the AAW you have access to all back issues. I still think that is the best benefit of being a member of the AAW.
