An option is to find another 3520b owner nearby. Copy all of the settings from it then set your inverter. A friend and I did this for my Jet 1642 and it worked like a charm.

I seem to remember that Doc Green had the settings also. Try and contact him.

I think at one time Doc's PM and info was a 3520a. Some of the VFD control wiring was different from the "b" but I don't think the settings in the VFD are different. If you run into any problems check back or send me a note. I have an XLSX file of the settings, I think from Harvey Meyer. I can't read it on this computer but I could send it to you if you can read it. I also have a PDF about programming the VFD. I could check some of my settings too if needed.

I received an email from David and suggested he go through the troubleshooting procedure given on my website to be sure his problem is with the inverter as opposed to something in the control circuitry, the switch, for example. In his email, he said his inverter has apparently died, but gave no other details.

Incidentally, my PM is a 3520B but I have no experience dealing with the internals of the inverter, like setting the codes, etc.

Just a hint....anybody that has a piece of machinery with a drive that can be programmed should go out and write down the settings while it is still working. Then, if possible, remember where you put the readings. I store mine inside the controller housing. Just a thought.

Ah, looking back at the emails I think it must have been Harvey who had the "a". I remember it was different from the info on your web site which befuddled me for a bit.

The comment about writing down the settings interests me, since I have a Powermatic PM2020. Can you elaborate on how this is accomplished please?

My Jet 1642 came with a Delta Electronics manual for the VFD-S. I don't remember the details but I followed the instructions and stepped through the parameters one at a time with the up/down arrows. I compared the values to the defaults listed in the manual and wrote down all those different from the defaults (and also wrote them down in the manual). No need to write down the defaults since you can always reset the VFD to the defaults.

If you are changing settings on your existing VFD you will need an unlock code to get into the menu. I have it at home for my Jet 1642 but not with me. It was listed recently in another thread back a while back.

Thank you all for your help. I'm currently following Doc Greens advice on seeing if I can get the inverter repaired. He recommended a company that should be able to do it. If I can get it repaired, I'll be sure to go through and write down the settings to have them for next time. Thanks again for everyones help and input.

For those that are in this same situation, Doc Green gave me the name of a company, One Stop Resource (http://onestopresource.com) in North Carolina that will fix the devices. The company worked for me, and while not super cheap, they were much cheaper than purchasing a brand new device. The company charged me a little under $200 with a few weeks total turn around. That was much better than the $600+ that powermatic wanted to charge me.
