I have a review of trigger style airbrushes coming out in January. If I were to start over today I would definitely start out with a trigger style. This will be a good first stop for answers. https://www airbrushingwood.com

Dick it depends on what you want to do with the airbrush. You can buy them from $9.99 at Harbour frieight to well over $400, and anywhere in between. It's hard to go wrong with an Iwata brush and they come in different prices. I am a fan of the Grex after owning a Paache, and Iwata. Granted my Grex was more expensive and there are other brands that run even higher. For most wood turners just wanting to add color or just do some minor masking type air brushing you don't need an expensive one. If on the other had your wanting to do something like my Galaxy mirrors then the better air brushes are easier to control and produce a better spray pattern. Grex has several models and talking to Joe Flemming is a really good place to start. He will discuss the differences and is very knowledgeable.
