Off center turning, new to me idea....

Just watched a video by Jerry Paul Making a Christmas Ornament. He turned an Off center handle for the bell. Was not crazy about any of it except how he did the off center part. Removed two opposite chuck jaw sliders, then reinstalled one of the remaining two out of position. so one jaw was way out of position. This cause the piece to rotate off axis. Not explaining well, maybe you have to see it.

I just thought it an interesting way to do something off center. Where is Barbara when I need her?

I often take 2 jaws off and then use a rectangular glue block so that I can slide the piece up and down or tilt it out.

For those of you interested in seeing the video, I found it on YouTube and posted the link below. He seems to be using an older version of a scroll chuck that allows each jaw to be adjusted independently. (He didn't explain what he was doing and I've always tried to ensure my chuck jaws move concentrically, so maybe I've simply missed a feature all self-centering 4-jaw chucks have in common.)
