A maple burl box I turned during a box making class I taught. The lid is a taper fit. A gift for my friend. I haven't posted much lately, I will try to stay more active. All comments welcome.

Beautiful wood, and I like the shape of the box and the lid; after a couple of views I'm starting to warm up to the finial.

Keith -- The box is beautiful. I really like how the body of the box gently curves up under the bead that starts the lip of the lid. It's an elegant and unexpected touch. And, of course, the wood itself is spectacular. I'm sure your friend will love it.
