Scrap wood vases

Working on some quick and cheap weed pots from scrap for holiday shows coming up. First one was not quick, but learned enough to cut time in half. Love getting stuff made in less than an hour for holiday sales. Domed sides with dished out accent. Small tenon was left on base to turn and drill opening, then trimmed off on the table saw.

Thanks David, they’ve been fun. Did 2 more yesterday. Fun to experiment with the off center turning to bring in new subtle surfaces. I bought a meat packing box filled with walnut 8/4 blocks about 25-30 years ago at a Chicago woodworking show. Thrilled to be able to finally find a purpose to use them up!

Something that sells well in Colorado! LOL
My definition is a small vase with a very small opening. Meant to hold one or two flowers, grasses, or colorful twigs. Something on this order.
