Lathe owners users groups - How do you do it?

Joe Fleming

The Stubby lathe owners have had a Yahoo!groups user group for close to 15 years. With the death of Bill Rubenstein, we lost our sole administrator. Yahoo! has some built in processes to change administrators, but the Yahoo! corporate service organization is 100% unresponsive. We have tried to get group updates, but to no avail. Therefore, the Stubby owners are stranded. We have been adopted by the Woodturners Unlimited site, but they are having their own survival struggles. We have a Facebook site, but many Stubby owners prefer to stay off that site for security and privacy reasons,

So, my question to the WoodCentral audience is, are there other ad-hoc user groups? On what platform do you meet and discuss your machines, technical questions, etc.? Our preference is to not fill a general woodturning group with Stubby blather. Oneway? Robust? Powermatic? Vicmarc? How do you folks meet up? The Stubby owners are looking for ideas and suggestions.
