But, I'm surprised you would want a coat of beeswax on the wood before applying any finish. Never heard of it, never used it.

....at applying a "regular" finish over the ingredients of that Yorkshire Grit that contains mineral oil and beeswax.

"Bees Wax" That should tell you something. I don't think any finish will work over wax. I am just saying.
Want to polish wood or finish?

Washing with mineral spirits will help remove wax and mineral oil
Have you ever wet sanded with wax??? Good cleaning afterwards works.
I remember Russ Fairfield advocating wet sanding with wax, but having distaste for mineral oil because it softened finishes.
I would use it to polish the finish, but experience with other wax grit combos has been blah so try it on something it cannot degrade.

Mike Waldt uses Yorkshire grit on almost everything he turns. He uses a sanding sealer, half lacquer and half thinner, before using the grit. Then after the grit he uses various wax finishes. No film finish.
So if you are wanting to a wax finish then his stuff is good. I prefer film finishes, shellac, lacquer, or poly so do not use anything in prep that contains wax. Sometime I sand with walnut oil but let is dry at least a week before sealing with shellac.
This is one of Mike's videos on the product.
