Shine Juice Question

Does anyone know if the combination of 1/3 denatured alcohol, 1/3 boiled linseed oil and 1/3 shellac AKA “shine juice” is food safe after it has cured.
Recently I turned a 10 inch cherry bowl and accidentally applied this formula to it. Normally I would have used just dna and shellac. So if I wait 3-4 months can it then be used as a salad bowl?

As far as I've read, once it's fully cured it is food safe. At least that's what the latest experts say.

I have no idea why that or any finish would not be food safe. Now if the food could somehow leach into the finish and chemically degrade it, then you have an issue. Of if you slice into the bowl and they eat an actual chip of the finish. Both are extremely unlikely. You should protect yourself when using shellac and DNA though. DNA now has a high percentage of methanol in it. Methanol has a sorted history in America, especially during prohibition. It's formula is to make it poisonous for human consumption. Absorption through the skin is also an issue, but not nearly as dangerous as drinking it.

….leave a slight bitter taste during the first few uses, but most salad dressings will mask that!

Thank you all for your thoughtful responses. I thought it would not be harmful once it has cured, unless perhaps if they ate the bowl. But I wanted to discuss it with you guys to be sure. Thanks.
