We put our house up for sale and have spent huge amounts of time cleaning and painting everything that needed from the gutters on down. What a lot of work. Anyway I finally had time to do a little more turning. I had to turn a gavel for my cousin who was just elected Mayor of cumberland County Tn. Turning the gavel was easy. Getting the brass wrapped around it was really hard. What worked was to wrap it as best I could and then start wrapping string around the outer edges to pull it tighter until the 2 holes I drilled in the metal actually met up. This let me insert the handle which is threaded.
Are you moving again? If I ever gave to move I may just set every thing on fire. I have been in the same house since 1986. Have way more stuff than I will need or use.
We moved after 40 years in the same place. Was not fun. I'll never live in the same place for that long again. (don't think Ill make it to till 125 years)
