…..mode from 2 injuries during the last 4 mos. I stepped up to the old Woodfast with a Bocote square blank, among my favorite woods. 
I've still got it, and the spicy/peppery scent of Bocote makes the shop smell great. ! Took about 20 min. to turn and sand, wipe on a coat of thinned lacquer, and its done. 5" sq, X 2"H

Just be careful about snorting bocote. It can cause you to become addicted to woodturning. 
I spent the afternoon turning 3......

...square bowls from quilted White Oak, so the nice smell of the Bocote has been overpowered, but at least Oak aroma is not as unpleasant as some other woods!

I've steered away for most exotics, never liked the idea of finding I had an allergy to it with a huge rash and a trip to the hospital.
Wonderful balance with the grain.

Glad you healed well. I spent a lot of time on a ladder yesterday and was very very careful. I realize I don't heal like I used to.
