Brag on my turning club

32 stands decorated by a local high school senior are class. In November of 2016 the Central Illinois Woodturners started a community service program where we turned and donated wig stands to The Susan G. Komen Foundation. Due to the overwhelming support of a private company that supplies us with hardwood and the enthusiastic attitude of the membership as of Jun 2018 we have turned and donated 432 wig stands. It is my hope that this number is well over 500 by the end of the year.

That is very cool, and a great community give-back project. Well done.

Very nice, great project for a club.

Can you provide details of dimensions or other specs in case some reading this wants to try some?

Also, how do you get them to people who can use them - is there an organization, local or national?

The stands are distributed by the Komen Foundation. We are in central Illinois. Komen's coverage is from interstate 80 south to the state capitol Springfield. From the Indiana border to the Iowa border.

The stand dimensions are 13"-15" tall. The top 3"-5" diameter by 2" thick. Base 5"-6" diameter by 1 1/2" thick. Polyurethane should be used as finish to protect from moisture.

I have a pdf I would gladly share.
