Some larger turning

I started another angel this morning. I will be pierced so I turned it down to 1.5mm thickness. Then I decided to work on a project I started about 6 years ago or more. When I turned my gun cabinet lamp I started the project by testing the stave glue up using scrap. The glue up showed a lot of problems that I was able to solve but this piece had all kinds of slippage and other problems learning how to glue up something with 32, 45" compound miter staves. Anyway I saved it and designed a piece that I want to build but it sat in the back corner of the shop forever. I decided today to turn it. I think it ended up being about 3/8 to 1/2" thick in some places due to the misalignment of the segments. It will still work the project I have in mind. So now I have to find the time to finish it and solve the other problems going with this piece. It's 16" at the bottom and 5" at the top.
