Unknown to us, but I bet collectors are well aware of that auction site. When I see discussions like this on woodworking forums, I always think of Wendell Castle's #1 rule; 1. If you’re in love with an idea, you are no judge of its beauty or value. We are not good judges of wood art acceptance. I attend SOFA a lot in Chicago. Wood art has always appeared to be the red headed step child at that show. Huge steps have been made of course, but it's a great distance from being considered fine art. I dropped out of our local art scene. It's just too demoralizing knocking myself out on what I consider my most creative work, then only selling a few pendant necklaces on a gallery night. The market is incredibly small, and with the aging of major collectors, getting smaller.
