Finish for Cedar

Turned my first cedar bowl. Now I need suggestions for the finish. Would rather not darken it much. Is paste wax a possibility?

Everything you put on it will darken it. The finish i found that darkens it the least is Krylon Fixatif. You can usually find it at art stores and hobby Lobby a d Michaels.

A bowl for what, soup, stamps, looks? Gloss, satin?
Eastern Red Cedar? If not, none of the following applies.
I've tried lots of things on cedar since I like to turn cedar. Some, not all bowls:
Beeswax, friction melted with lathe on:
Beeswax, softened, hand rubbed with lathe off:
Beeswax, applied on lathe, melted with heat gun:
Lacquer, 6 coats from a rattle can, 0000 steel wool between coats:
Watco oil, maybe 8 coats, first coat soaked in, the others wiped off and dried overnight:
Center one, Myland's Friction polish:
Watco oil, two applications:
The one on the bottom really darkened. (Kidding, it's ebony)
