Speed Controller

Looking for a speed controller for a Delta 46-460 lathe. Actually, I need the circuit board inside the controller mechanism.

Delta parts price is almost as much as a new lathe!

Posted on Classified but posted here for those who don't often check that site.

When my controller went out I found a local motor repair shop that was a Baldor certified shop.( the controller was Baldor.) They fixed for about $100. Cheaper than even just the circuit board .. I live in the Kansas City area. Any good sized city should have a competent shop. If they can't fix it they should be able to order the board.

Good luck

Forgot to say it was the same lathe that you have.

There are several 3rd party companies that will repair electronic boards when they are no longer available from the manufacturer. If you visually inspect the circuit board on occasion you can sometimes identify the problem and make repairs if you have the tools and experience. A cold solder joint is a common problem on electronic boards, or a component on the board has failed which usually shows signs of overheating before it fails. A multi-meter can be used to test various components on a controller and quickly eliminate the items that might be the problem. Someone with a digital scope meter will be able to test the different circuits on the board to determine where the failure has occurred. These types of controllers are quite common and your local electronics technician would be more than capable of diagnosing the problem on these boards and then it is the cost of parts and labor to make the repair. The labor to diagnose and the material cost and labor to repair will in many cases exceed the cost of a new board in todays market.
