I wonder how much time it takes.

I'd like to see one carve, smooth, and finish a wooden sphere by hand.

I had a waitress tell me about this the other night. Sounds interesting. I still wonder if it could be done on a lathe between centers by just burnishing..

I assume you've heard of Dorodango (polishing mud spheres)? I'm guessing that that's where this came from.

Mythbusters made some from manure thus busting the myth that "you can't polish a turd".
