Ca glue issue

Can CA glue loose its abilities to work?

I have some in the original bottle and now it just will not hold items stuck together

Thanks for the help!

It has a shelf life, the time depending on the glue, the bottle, the storage temperature, etc.

Sometimes it gets a little thicker as it dies. Other times it just sets up in the bottle. If it quits holding in situations where it used to work OK it sounds like it's time to toss it.

It becomes very brittle as it ages and won't hold well.

I have used CA for decades and never had it fail using my methods. I did have one instance of failures and we found the accelerator was the problem. The glue will get thicker over a period of time but any CA will be considered old after a year or so of opened storage.

I record the date on the bottle when I open and pitch after 6 months.
