Adrien, What size saw is it? There is a sequence to fire one of these up: hold the throttle wide open, and set the choke. It's important that the choke is set with the throttle this way. The saw should start in only s few pulls. When it starts, open the choke. If not, check for plugged air filter, fouled plug, restricted fuel supply, or your mixture settings are off. (Dealer job if you are not mechanically inclined) my Stihl is 27 years old, fires on the third or forth pull every time.

It helps to clean the saw after each use, and my ancient Husky likes to sit on the sun for a spell before pulling the cord. Huskies have a de-compression button than must be depress before pulling the cord, or it will be very hard to pull.

The new Huskies start at the fist pull! hint, hint

I have a Sthil and a Husky. No problems starting the Husky. If it sits for a month or three, it takes a couple of pulls to get it going. Other than that, one or two pulls. I have an old Sthil, and getting it going is a pain for me. It doesn't start up the same way as the Husky and we just don't mesh that well. I think I flood it, but not sure. Both saws like the clear premium gas much better than the premium from the standard pumps.

My Stihl has the compression release. I usually have two to three pulls at full choke and when it burps, move to run position and it starts. I use top premium gas 91 and use Stihl oil as it has fuel stabilizer in it.

Mike is right. I was having the same trouble starting my Stihl until the dealer told me about closing the choke after three or four pulls or until it burps. works every time.
