Still have a lot to learn on air brushing but I'm having fun. I'll be doing an air brush demo in Elijay, Ga Thursday evening.

Very nice John! I can certainly can tell that your airbrushing is advancing and your galaxy painting is more sophisticated. You know what they say, the more you know the more you realize that you don't know.

Woodturnings by James P. Seyfried I have enjoyed woodworking and construction for most of my life. I have had a Craftsman tube lathe for many years, but only occasionally used it. I upgraded my shop a few years ago; one of the improvements was a new Powermatic 3520b lathe. It quickly became my most often used tool. I still do some flatwork but the vast majority of what I do involves woodturning. I enjoy making all sorts items on the lathe, from pens to hollow forms. I like the variety but particularly like to turn bowls from green wood. The majority of the wood I use is from salvaged trees that were downed by storms. I think the grain of Michigan trees can be amazing and some very nice turnings can be made with it.

Very nice John. Your airbrushing is looking pretty good. Maybe I should airbrush something for you, so you have a good basis for what poor looks like. I do poor airbrushing very well. 😀

You should post a photo of the blue bowl you did the other day. That is spectacular.

Far Out, Man!

I sure wish I was close enough to see your demo-that piece is fantastic.

My name is Don and I'm a Turning addict. There, I finally can admit I have a problem. The problem is not enough time to turn! I work as a Medical Imaging Tech for a living but that's just so I can light and heat the shop and buy more tools. I've been turning since 2000 and it has changed my life. I never had a creative outlet before I discoverd Woodturning and now I can't get enough. After I turned my first pen, my wonderful wife saw how excited I was and bought me a mini lathe. She now refers to herself as a "Turning Widow". She is a potter and quilter so she understands the obsession. My interests in turning are many and varied and I'm sure I will not live long enough to try everything I'd like to, but I'll give it a shot. Unfortunately we don't have any children or pets so you'd think I have all kinds of free time to turn, but for some reason I don't. I belong to the Adirondack Woodturners Association in upstate New York, the Mohawk Valley Woodturners, the Old Country Guild of Woodturnes and AAW, as well as the Northeastern Woodworkers Association. (I'd also like to learn to do flatwork someday.) Happy and Safe Turning, Don
