3520 powermatic lathe switch

I had to replace the off on switch on my lathe and found this switch as a substitute switch instead of a Powermatic replacement and it fits and works perfectly. It mounts through from the back with a nut on front and a screw on knob.

Thank you for the info on the switch. My PM speed control switch is a PITA in that it moves too easily and presents a constant unwanted speed change, if I am not super careful. To avoid the problem in a safer direction I reversed The Leads inside the housing so that the speed tends to go slower if accidentally rubbed. While this works for me I would not recommend it to everyone. I need to find a speed control sw. that has some significance. Yes, I have heard other PM owners complain and yes, putting a rubber band around the shaft helps but a good sw. should not need a series of "fixes". Any leads on a good one?? Philip

You might try a fat o ring or 2 on the stem with the knob off and then when you replace the knob set it a bit snug on the o ring and that should give you some resistance to keep the knob from rotating too easy.
