more on the SB Vortex tool

I tried turning a spindle with it this morning. I could barely cut with the sides at all. Only the point seems to do the cutting with a push cut. It does cut deep V's but trying to round over a bead was really difficult. I took a piece of 1/4" steel rod and ground a 25 degree included angle skew on the end of it. I was able to do just as nice a V with this tool but of course could roll beads and to peeling and planing cuts with that tool. I'll have to ask Stewart how he uses that tool because I'm not doing very good at figuring it out. Seems to be a one trick pony to me.
