Grouting??
I need something to fill spaces in my wood sculptural forms. Has anyone specifically used acrylic cement sanded-grout for filling wide checks/cracks and other spaces in wood? What do you recommend for a water-based, colourable, hard but reasonably ‘flexible’ filler for such spaces? (i.e. not a two-part epoxy like substance) I would be grateful to hear of your experience and for your suggestions.

Give this company a call. Many of the artists I used to shoot for use their products for one thing or another. Don't know if they have exactly what you need but they might.

What about Chinking?
Chinking is a flexible sealant that is used to seal the joints of log homes.
It comes in different colors.

Gosh I forgot about that and I lived in log home. they do make a flexible colored chinking. Don't know if you can buy it in limited quantities but it sure is good stuff. I had other problems with my log home but chinking never was. Excellent stuff. The downside is I don't think you can make is smooth or polish it.
