Got to meet a Turner whose I have admired for quite some time. Clay Foster visited CIW in Bloomington Illinois today. Picked up some great ideas and a few tips. Can’t wait to try them before I forget.

Clay is great.

Met him a.long time.ago. learned a lot over the years. Very subtle sense of humor

I spent some time with him last year and loved the time and developed an appreciation of him as an artist and a person. He (and that other Jordan guy!) made me think outside my narrow path of comfort. I'm still exploring things from that time.

Clay and I will be repeating our class ( Grumpy Old Men) next summer at Appalachian Center for Craft in July, and at Arrowmont in October. It is a lot of fun, and not the typical turning class and plenty challenging-new ways to look at what you do. I think JKJ is signing up again. We hope so because he brings a lot of stuff we can use. :)

Clay even quoted you about the 'sack of sand' form on one of his hollowed pieces.
