More turned toys *PICs*

Just finished this Holly/Amboyna burl yoyo and matching display...both very cool woods to work with. The rose engine embellishment on the base is complimented by a handmade dichroic glass cabochon.

Striking. Your yo-yos look like they belong in museums!

Ed -- The only problem with this yo-yo is that it's too nice to use! They're like those very fancy china dolls that are not to be played with (according to my aunt who collected them). You've taken a simple child's toy and turned it into a work of art. That takes real talent. Very well done.

I know you make other yo-yo's that can be played with, but the last few you've shown are simply too nice for that. They're destined for a prominent place of display.

The one I have is in a prominent place of display in my shop, next to some things I like to look at from a few of my favorite turners. I'm horrible at the yo-yo so I didn't try using it. Someday I'll run into an expert and let them try it out.
