Well, that just caped off a crapy day.
Yes that is very sad

He is one of the turners I admired most. Not just as a turner but as a person who should be admired for his accomplishements. A very sad day indeed.

It is unfortunately accurate information. Binh was 61. It is indeed a sad day in the woodturning and larger art world. The butterflies weep with us.

Sad to hear. I had heard in KC that he was not in good health...

Very sad news indeed. A great loss for the turning community and the rest of the world. Artists like Binh come along infrequently in our lives, but we are better for having known them. He was the epitome of a woodturner-kind, capable, thoughtful and incredibly generous with his time and talent. His spirit will live on in his work and the inspiration he gave to so many.
My deepest sympathy to his family and friends. And a thank you to his family for sharing him with us-I know he was away from you a lot while helping us.
Well said, Don *LINK*

Binh was an inspiration as a human being and a great artist.
I knew he was ill because he skipped demonstrating at a local symposium over a year ago.
I was so moved when I heard the sad news that I sat right down and wrote an article for our next newsletter. He once shared a sandwich with me -- that's the kind of guy he was.
Here's a well-written article published a couple years ago by ACC:
