Bocote from the wood stash,.......

...and among my favorite woods. It works nicely for a dense wood, finishes easily, and doesn't show sanding scratches! ;) The figure in the grain is the main attraction, but will darken down to a dark chocolate over time. It has a wonderful spicy peppery aroma when fresh, unlike some other woods that smell like they grew over a septic field! 7"Wx3"H

Nice shape and beautiful wood! I also like the smell. Some of the worst smelling I've cut is wet alanthus. Maybe wet elm is next.

Your wood "stash" must be incredible!

I have a love.hate relationship with bacote. Hate turning it. Smells like hell and only gives me dust but i absolutely love the look.
