Whoa. Pretty amazing stuff, Darrin. You've been busy. I'm usually not a big fan of inlace, but your hints of it are a little gem.

Thanks for posting.

I love all the carving. The forms are great. Good job. Glad you figured out how to post the photos.

Wonderful Stuff. I use the word Stuff to indicate the stock I am prepping for the project. Its the stuff I am working with. You bring a whole new meaning to Stuff.

I would like a little description. Wood, Size, etc. And I agree with Ellis. A little inlace goes a long ways and you have done it well. Excellent carving.

Not a fan of the red dye, but that just me.

Very creative! And inspiring!

I also would like to know some details about these.

Do you have any photos of you in the process of carving?

The red vase was a gift to friends of mine whom I've known for decades...

they had a little bed and breakfast in town and then they sold it and moved to mexico... no idea why...

but i called and asked the wife of the couple what was her favorite color and she said 'rose'... and she said her entire living room was in 'rose'...

so i made the piece from a tree that i harvested from their house... it was actually already down and cut up for firewood... it was one of the few intact pieces without a lot of rot and damage... so i got what i got...

I enjoy carving and like to see both.

I know nothing about swat, except when my wife finds a fly in the kitchen. Perhaps you are thinking of that other John Jordan, the real woodturner. :) That happens all the time. However, so far no one has sent me any money intended for him!

I'm not seeing a thing. I've opened almost all these posts, but no photos appear at my end. crappy internet/no bandwidth issue?

To add to the confusion, we both are about the same age, both live in TN, both are incredibly talented... er., at least one of us is incredibly talented. :-)

This is from 2009 TAW I think, Doug Thompson, JJ, John Lucas, JKJ:

I'm the lazy, but pretty, one. JKJ is the industrious, multi-talented one. :)

Your creativity, vast knowledge of wood, design and artistic esthetics, woodturning expertise, and skill at carving are without question.

However, there is obviously something terribly wrong with either your mirror, your vision, or both. Perhaps try first a bit of Windex. If that doesn't help I can recommend a good eye doctor. :)
