it's a new morning, lets go turn

I'm working on a project I designed probably 12 years ago or more. The wood I needed to do the job simply didn't exist. It's now available and will allow me to bend the really tight corners I needed for this job. So I will work on that some more today. I woke up at 3:15 and couldn't sleep. I designed 2 more projects and got up and made sketches. Don't know when I will get to them although I think I'll start making some full size drawings for one of the mirrors. The other one will take some searching through my photo archives to see if I can find the studies I did of moving water. That will help me fine tune my really poor sketches.

I'm teaching my stepson to turn a mirror with a heart inlayed on it. We will probably work on that today and get it to the finishing stage. He also wants to turn a wine stopper so I'll just give him some blanks and a Hunter Hercules and turn him loose.

It is a good morning John. Thanks for reminding us.

I have a fairly regular customer who is in the Cold Brew Coffee business. His cold brew is in the running for "The Nation's Best Cold Brew Coffee" this weekend. So last night he called and asked if I could design and make him some new tap handles with his new logo - by Wednesday.

Fortunately I cleared the decks last night and was taking a day out today. But instead I get to go into the shop and play. The only restrictions are the size (roughly eight inches tall) and they must incorporate the logo. Off-center, flats, tapers, both Victorian and Art Deco, and whatever else comes to mind.

Yes, it is a good day.

All the same? All wildly different would be fun!

I was going to put in 20 miles on the bicycle but I guess that won't happen.
