I recently bought a 6" riser kit from an eBay seller for my 14" Delta Bandsaw. The originals are no longer available so I went with this 3rd party seller. The kit is imported I am sure.

Anyway, I have two problems with it. First, the 105" blade that came with it and a 105" Woodslicer 1/2" resaw blade I purchased from Highland are so tight that it is nearly impossible to get it on the wheels.

Next, the wheels are no longer planer. They are so far out that the blade rides at the very outside edge of the lower tire a little onto the wheel itself when it is centered on the upper tire. Also, the thrust bearings and guides don't extend far enough to be positioned properly.

Any ideas? Or am I just out of luck.

I put an after market riser on an off brand bandsaw. The mounting holes didnt match up properly and i had to file them off center to get everything on the bandsaw to align. Dont know if thats even close to your problem but hope it helps.

Have you contacted the seller? Is there play in the joint and can you rotate any parts of the saw frame before getting the bolt really tight? A little more info would help us give you advice. My first thought would be to check their return policy. Second plan would be taking the block to a machinist to reduce the height, and third would be measuring the actual blade lengths.

I had to fuss with mine as well, from Delta. I have custom blades welded up, same problem. >(

Mine from Delta (a long time ago) worked the first time and with off-the-shelf blades. Maybe I got lucky.

Any chance a burr or something is keeping the block from clamping flat against the machine casting?

I'd then check that the top of the block is parallel with the bottom. Do you have some precision measuring tools? (or a friend with some and hopefully with a milling machine?) A milling machine could skim a bit off top in short order, providing the proper clearance for the blade at the same time.

What about getting a blade just a little bit longer than 105"......maybe a 106" blade? Would it work properly then?

He's also very inexpensive. What I would do is rig up a piece of wood with a long slot in the middle. Use this to check and see if the wheels are coplaner. they don't have to be perfect but should at least be close. If not see if you can adjust the riser. did you loosen the top wheel all the way to see if the blade will fit.
