This may help someone down the road.

I ended up with the Carba-tec threading jig less spindle and bushings.

I used a metric thread pitch gauge and verified the spindle throat has M30-2 threads.

I ordered an M30-2 die and started turning several bushings to complete the jig.

I am using a metal lathe to machine the bushings to size and will use a tap & die

to cut the inner and outer threads.

The locking post has an M8-1.25 metric thread which needs to be extended if used

on any lathe other then the old Carba-tec lathe.

There are 4 threaded mounting holes in the base of the threading jig these are metric M6 threads.

The threaded mounting holes makes it easy to mount the jig to a raised base for the lathe you have.

3/4 by 16 and 3/4 by 10 are good threads for the inside of the bushings.

They are easy to get as all thread rod, and fittings to chuck/faceplate threads are readily available (if not already in hand).

X-Y vise is a good adjustable mounting base

This jig does not need to be precise on centerline. Close or even sloppy close works fine.

If I have time I might turn several different sized bushings for different sized spindles.

I have a 1x8 spindle on several of my lathes and bowl chucks so I might try to see if I can

make that size of bushing first, or make a bushing adapter to fit my bowl chuck for a 3/4"

spindle.

I have 1x8 threads on several lathes and several bowl chucks, I might make several

different sizes if I get time to get them turned on the metal lathe. It will be nice having a

threading jig to cut threads into wood, at last.

I was sizing the threads for the hand turning wheel today and it looks

like it is threaded for an M16-1.5 metric thread. This is the large hand wheel

on the tail stock side that you use to turn the billet and advance the piece towards

the thread cutter.

After turning a set of bushings and checking the thread fit on the Carba-tec body,

it turns out the thread is actually M31-2 that is needed for the spindle bushings.
