In the Keynote speech at the 2017 Colonial Williamsburg Woodworking in the Eighteenth Century banquet, Don Williams proposed an inspirational "bucket list" of skills for hand tool woodworkers.

This list should include things like cutting and assembling mortise and tenons, through tenons, dovetails, half-blind dovetails, etc. This list is a little too heavy on the cosmetic portions of what we do.

Considering the audience, perhaps Don Williams assumed they had probably already mastered those skills. :)

On more than one occasion, I've heard him comment, "It's time to get beyond dovetails." This building, on his property, perhaps illustrates that concept. :D
