Having fun turning

john lucas

After sitting in the hospital for 12 days with my stepson I was ready to get in the shop. I'm finishing 2 Beads of courage boxes, working on 4 hand mirrors and made a copy of my texturing tool so I could keep 2 different cutters mounted and easily swap between them. I should finish all of those tomorrow and be able to get some photos tomorrow night. It is so much fun throwing shavings again.

Once my stepson gets into rehab and goes through the radiation therapy my time will again be short because I'll be driving him 2 hours to Chattanooga each day for 6 weeks. Still that beats sitting in a hospital room 12 to 14 hours a day.

I'd like to see how you made the texturing tool when you have time to get the pics uploaded.

Glad you're home!

I like the idea of making another handle for the texturing wheels. Will you cut a slot, drill and tap for a screw? One I got from Frank Penta has a pin driven in to make it more or less permanent but I'd rather be able to change them.
