Using DNA to reduce drying time of green wood

I have had good success in using a soak in DNA to reduce the drying time of rough turned green wood pieces. Not being in a particular hurry, I left them to soak for about a week. I have just started processing a new piece that I would like to hurry up a bit. My intuition suggests that a couple of days should be enough time for the alcohol to diffuse into the wood and replace most of the water. Has anyone had experience with shorter soak times? My wall thickness is about 3/4 inch. I realize that there is no simple answer since one will be trading off soak time against subsequent air drying time.
