Nick Agar's Silver Paste

At the TAW symposium, I watch Nick Agar turn one of his Viking Bowls. I want to get some of the silver paste he used, but didn't get the information. I bought something similar at Hobby Lobby, but not happy with it. If someone has a picture of what he uses and the name, I would be great full. Thanks. Jake

I saw Nick's demo several years ago. Don't know if he is still using the same brand of "Gilders Paste" but it was impossible to find in the US. Same (?) stuff - different brand - can be purchased at Craft Supplies, although they raised their price by $4 per tin to $12.50 >( . Another source is Turtle Feathers at $6.50 per tin - but I just checked and they now only seem to have the "German Silver" which is probably not as bright as the "Silver". Call them - they might still have some silver available. I have about a dozen colors but I like the Metallic Colors the best.

I believe what Nick used when he was here doing hands on is Daler Rowney Goldfinger Silver. Not a cheap date but by far the best I've used. Carried by many retailers.

Nick Agar was at our club last weekend and demonstrated using a product that is part of line of products that I guess will be a Nick Agar signature product line made by Chroma Craft. The new paste is not a wax and is supposed to be more permanent. He said it was not on their web site yet but could be asked for by phone.

Jake,

I'm sorry but I completely forgot about getting this info and pictures for you. I'm fighting a pinched nerve in my neck and had to leave after an hour or so. However, what Randall Mack posted in the original post seems to be accurate. Sorry I blew this for you.

My friend Mike Zinzer took his class and does a lot of his techniques. I'll bet you Mike knows what he's using. I can give you his phone number. I will be driving to the Hospital again this morning but you can probably reach me unless I'm in between Spencer and Dunlap where I don't have any reception.

To the best of my knowledge none are yet ready for sale. As soon as he gets all his ducks in a row he will let us know. Chroma Craft is the manufacturer.

I just got the following message from Chroma-Craft about the Nick Agar products.

"The products will be available in the next few weeks on our website. Sorry for the delay."

Jake. I talked to Mike Zinzer yesterday and he said he has been using a product called Goldfinger that Nick used to use. It comes in silver and is water based. He gets it from Rex,s art supply in Florida. I talked to him while we were waiting for Kenneth to come out of surgery. He looked really well at 8 pm last night. Would not have expected someone who had a hole cut in his head to look that good.
