Goblets

I did a demo for the Crossville club on turning goblets. Here are two. I'm still trying to finish the one I did during the demo. I decided to add something to it and carved on it today and will add some painting to it hopefully tomorrow. The gold ring in the bottom is epoxy with gold flakes stirred up inside I cut a shallow groove in the bottom and fill it with this mixture. then after it's cured I turn away the wood leaving the ring. The glass was a real goblet that I cut the stem off and left about 1/2" or so that is glued in the top.

Pretty snazzy there, Mr. Lucas! That gold ring at the rim and the ring on the walnut base makes for a real appealing goblet. I think this would look great as a set as well. The second one is nice, but does not strike my personal fancy the way the other one did....of course that is just my own taste, but I had to compliment you on a great design, and the color combination is classic with the gold and walnut.....nice, nice, nice!

Not bad but the next time I expect to read how you turned the glass bowl out of a chunk of solid glass.

Seriously, your work is amazing, innovative and an inspiration!
