I've entered the secondary market! LOL

I found a listing on eBay last night, selling one of my large catalpa natural bark edge bowls. Listed from Connecticut for $85.50, marked down from $95. It has a kind and complimentary description, so that did help, a little. So there's my sign, no wonder some bowls don't sell for me. Here's an 18" x 8" bowl with the "market value" all spelled out for me! LOL I sold that to a friend of my wife's and when she passed, they had an on-line estate sale. I guess it went from Peoria to Connecticut at that point. Who knows how low it went for on that sale.

Amazing. I have a bowl I made that was sitting in the top of a closet that could be a core out of that one. If the photographer took a picture of mine under the same conditions you wouldn't be able to tell them apart.

Years ago I made some copper trellises. A friend asked for a donation to a garden club fund raiser and I gave it to them and they sold it. A few days later I spotted it in a yard in my neighborhood. I drive past it every day. It was like the cat came back.

I had done this benefit show for a few years, it is now defunct. In its final year, they had one of my pieces in as the raffle drawing. I don't even think that it was purchased at that show!

Dick,

I had a similar experience a few years ago with a yoyo I had made, but the secondary market for this particular item was much more kind to me than expected...sold new to a collector in 2001 for $100 and resold on eBay in 2012 for $722. I still keep the eBay sold link to remind me that miracles do happen.
